Caught Les Mis last night.

I had wanted to see it for ages, and went with the family.

The PA they use brings the performers voices very clearly, it was absolutely amazing how it sounds alongside the performers in the pit. I'd love to know how they rig the venue up.

Seen it many years back and rate this well and truly above the Phantom and Cats.

Went last month it was brilliant but I'm a tall guy and Her Majesty's is not ideal for me.

If it's any consolation there was probably at least one person sitting behind you for whom it was worse for.

Seen it many years back and rate this well and truly above the Phantom and Cats.

I saw Phantom as a kid, like Les Mis better. Nothing beat Starlight Express at the Tennis Centre for all round ALW cheeseyness, however.

Absolutely, big part of the issue constantly worrying about the poor person behind me. As you said though the acoustics were great so what they couldn't see they could certainly hear!

Seeing the Smith St Band and the Front Bottoms next week. Got tickets to Spoon and Parquet Courts next year. Will probably weaken and buy Angel Olsen tix too

I'm not a fan of festivals but without then we'd struggle to attract a lot of overseas acts to tour here.

Spoon in February.

I really want Alabama shakes and Damien Rice to come back out. Both are amazing live.

I'm not a fan of festivals but without then we'd struggle to attract a lot of overseas acts to tour here.

Laneway has a particularly good line up! You should really try to catch Benjamin Booker and I think also Courtney Barnett is playing.

I probably couldn't claim to be a enormous fan, but certainly the upper end of moderate. I was completely cheesed off last year when I was travelling overseas for five months - they were touring and I kept missing them by a day/week on three continents! The most frustrating was London, I only missed them by 8 hours or so (I was leaving in the morning and they were playing that evening)!!

I heard All This Could Be Yours yesterday for the first time, and didn't mind it. My all time favourite is We Used To Vacation though. Have you seen them play before?

And I really want to see Courtney Barnett - I love Avante Gardener!

The Victims are playing in Footscray tonight. Never thought I'd see the day that one of Australia's most legendary punk bands are playing their reunion gig in a pub in Footscray.

Went to see Spoon at the Forum on Wednesday night.
Fantastic gig. Pretty good run through a bunch of material from Kill The Moonlight on. Included a cover of Eddy Current's "Memory Lane". Also awesome versions of "Small Stakes" and "Black Like Me". Only disappointment's were no "The Way We Get By" or "They Want My Soul", but great gig.
Have to mention the support Deep Sea Arcade who are the first wave of 90's Madchester nostalgia I've seen. Sound like a mix of the Charlatans / Stone Roses / Mondays and a singer that carries himself with the limpness of a Shaun Ryder at his peak.

Yes Twodogs i was planning to get to this one but wasn't to be. Saw Dave Faulkner and Brad Shepherd at the Caravan a month ago and he said the victims were getting back together for a Melbourne gig and it will be at the Reverence in Footscray!!! Some bloke about 20 metres away and myself let out big shouts. Great venue!
