    Wow!
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

The show was really good. They were trying to recreate a concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 1968 but Willy RSL has a giant war photo and related paraphenalia on the wall behind the stage so i wasn't really feeling it if you get my drift. They would have been much better 1) Having a curtain on the back wall and
      2) Having the lights turned down

The muso's were very good and the lead singer after a bit of a rusty start really hit his straps and even managed to do the 'firing squad flop' in 'The End'. Not a bad effort for a bloke in his 50's. Although I think it shocked a few of the RSL regulars.

The bowl would have been ideal to see a performance of the doors.

I remember queueing up at Gaslight records in the mid 90's to meet Ray Manzarek and get his autograph. After waiting for a couple of hours it was all over in 5 seconds.....

Have been a huge fan of The Doors since my early teens, so getting to see Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger perform was a lifelong highlight for me and they didn't let us down.
Coincidentally I was down in Melbourne a week prior and attended a function at the Willy RSL, would have been great to see The Doors Show and meet you for an ale.
There is a dvd available of 'The Doors Live at the Hollywood Bowl' plus a few other good ones.
The Montreal music festival is another good one.

Re: Recent Gigs & Upcoming ones

I've got Peter Combe and the Bellyflopinapizza band coming up, as part of the Melbourne Fringe. I'm waaaaaaay too excited about it, who'd have thought I'd still want to go see a children's entertainer I loved at 4 years old at 31 years old? And goddamn it, does he put on a fun show for adults!
Wake me up when we get to heaven, let me sleep if we're going to hell

Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath

And we all found heaven - 2016 Premiers!

I remember thinking that Peter Combe was very cheeky as kids' entertainers go.

            He was bloody funny.

Bellyflopinapizza? That's going straight into my top 10 band names. And nothing to be ashamed about wanting to see a band you liked as a 4 year old; hell, zig and zag were always favourites of mine. Well, actually, Zag was anyway.

I saw Tame Impala at The Tivoli in Brisbane about 2 years ago. They are not natural showmen, but super tight live and put on a good show with a comprehensive light and vision show to match the music. Hope it's warm, would be a good vibe seeing them live in an outside setting on a pleasant night.

A friend of mine knows Peter Combe's kids (was in a band with them) and filled in on bass for Peter when he did a run of Uni O week shows a few years ago. Apparently he played all of the children's classics in the shows (which were all sold out) and they went off. Kids were moshing and crowd surfing to "Juicy, Juicy Green Grass" and the like.

Not only O week, he has sold out The Corner Hotel in Richmond a number of times.

I never failed to be suprised at how Melbourne crowds would go off at Weddings, Parties Anything gigs. I saw a lot of shows in my time but the slams at Weddo's gigs were something else, but they were a folk band. Go figure!

Was pretty great though, light show was very cool too. Interesting hearing a few Innerspeaker tracks given a more electronic vibe. Just hope he doesn't go too far down that track with the next album.

Went to the Atheneum to ser Welcome to Nightvale. It's a big favourite of my kids and while I've been aware of it for quite a while now Nightvale isn't really something I've payed a lot if attention too. But it was fantastic. Much funnier and dark than I was expecting. As I said I didn't really know what to expect. My ex wife (she's a fan)was going to take my daughter but had to go away at the last moment so I got whistled up as a replacement but I am glad I went.

I went and saw Metz at the Corner on Friday night. Pretty ace 3 piece who can make a *!*!*!*! ton of noise.
Looks like I'm going to Golden Plains for the first time ever, despite being slightly underwhelmed by the line up on initial viewing. Also got tix for Tweedy at the MRC and St Paul & the Broken Bones at the Corner in March. Considering Jeff Rosenstock at the Reverence too.
