A talk between Silvagni and Matthew Kennedy might lead Jack to reconsider his options. I’d take him in a heartbeat. A footballer who’s never been beaten because of insufficient effort.

That would be a good move and get Liam to talk to him as well. At Collingwood he may have too much pressure on him as an ex Carlton player.

I like him but I'm not sure he's the answer. I suspect Collingwood win out though.

Glad we are having a crack at Silvagni. I read that the Pies and Blues were offering similar deals - 4 years at under $700k per season.

Silvagni would be a great pick up as a free agent with salary the only consideration. Has high footy IQ and versatility. Could play as a hybrid defender on talls and smalls and could also swing up forward as the 3rd banana behind Darcy and Naughty similar to what Gunston does at the Bollywood Hawks.

Honestly if Nas chooses Port there’s no way they can bring him in without letting Butters go (which of course they’d only do if they think he’ll leave next year) - I reckon it’s on this year. Definitely a chance At least.

Imagine we brought in Butters, Rosa & Cody replace VDM & McNeil, and Silvagni into the backline with another year into key pillars like Darcy, JOD, Buss and no one to really drop off and only player lost to the list Marra who hasn’t played this year anyway.

Thatd be a seriously good side, unlikely maybe to get it all done but really not that unrealistic.

TIGERS LEAD CHASE FOR SUNS FORWARD

RICHMOND is leading a growing number of clubs interested in pursuing out-of-contract Gold Coast small forward Malcolm Rosas jnr.

Rosas jnr has struggled for regular games under Damien Hardwick, playing just three times in 2025.

The Tigers are keen to lure the 24-year-old to Punt Road to join their dynamic mix of small forwards that includes Seth Campbell, Maurice Rioli jnr and Steely Green.

Sydney also has interest in Rosas jnr, who has had a strong back half to his VFL season for the Suns, which has included small stints in the middle of the ground.

Drafted from Gold Coast's Academy at the end of 2019, through its Darwin zone, Rosas jnr has kicked 46 goals from his 48 career games.

The left-footer was told he could explore his options at the end of last season, with Brisbane taking a glance, before he returned to Carrara for a sixth season.

Hardwick has not settled on a regular small forward this year, with draftee Leo Lombard, Rosas jnr, Connor Budarick and Nick Holman all given opportunities. – Michael Whiting

^ Budarick had played a few games as a defensive forward and is pretty average at it. He's a small defender, been pushed out of that role with Richards and Rioli at the Suns now.

TBH I've seen him more as a dour defender with a good work-rate yet his pre-season reports talk about having a cracking game as a rebounding HB. Pretty sure he's a good tackler.

He's 175cm and certainly isn't an aerial threat from what I've seen. He's a guy we'd "set a task" for each week.
