Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
I don't think he would know how ASADA/WADA would react with 100% certainty.
Going off what we have been told to date he is doing that.
No idea why we are even involving AFL. They have nothing to do with it and cannot sanction something on behalf of ASADA/WADA.
I hope the story is missing bits of info.Comment

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
It's pretty simple to me - there's no grey in this. He's not permitted to be involved in sport until the ban is served. I don't know what conversations the AFL have had with ASADA over this, but it's not their call to make.
Hope this gets sorted out quick - touch nervousFloat Along - Fill Your LungsComment

I don't like the sound of this at all. Does anyone have the exact wording of the ban?Comment

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
We have it in writing from the AFL it's OK.
Interestingly when questioned by the HUN ASADA referred the question to the AFL under the guise of it being up to them to respond in the first instance as they have governance over their own code.
The HUN also states one unnamed AFL (senior) official isn't comfortable with Prismal continuing his role. That reads to me, someone was put on the hop, given minimal facts on the matter throughout the questioning, and states they're not comfortable with the concept given the context in which it was raised.
Who's actually read the HUN article?TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
This article provides a little detail and less comfort.
If discussions with ASADA are ongoing, our decision to employ him whilst banned appears reckless and provocative.
If Richard Ings states outright that Prismall's employment is in breach of the rules, I am nervous about this decision.
Nothing against Prismall peronally, but having a player currently serving a doping ban as your Player Welfare Officer just doesn't sit right with me, aside from possible WADA ramifications.Comment

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
Thanks for posting PP.
I'm backing our understanding and interpretation of the ASADA guidelines over ASADA's.
Why couldn't they get a senior person from ASADA to comment, rather than an ex-chief that is unlikely to be close to the nature of Prismal's position?TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

I think it is the case of "Don't panic Mr. Mainwaring". I am confident that the Club and PG know what they are doing. They know the whole situation we are going on bits and pieces.Comment

WTF it says it in black and white!
Are we hanging our hat on welfare officer being a "rehab" program???
seriously thin ice.
Nothing against Prismall but he should be stood down until talks are finished.Comment

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players
We seem to be itching to be provocative on this (Crameri is also currently training with 7 banned EFC players, being run by one of Hird's former assistants - again needlessly provocative).
Other involved clubs, like Port, StKilda etc, don't seem to be as vocal as PG and Bevo in general support, sympathy of the EFC position.
It feels like we are drawing ourself needlessly close to a fight that is not ours and not necessary.Comment
