I feel sorry for Sydney and GWS players, they will be in Melbourne for at least another month with Sydney now a disaster area with the delta variant rampant, all because Glady didn't go hard lockdown like VIC, WA and QLD did.

I hope they can control it as the potential is to stop the season in it's track - just when we are on top of the ladder.

Pretty average having a crack at a woman like that. I thought we were above digs at a woman. A woman can have an intimate personal life, have a high powered job and follow health advice all at once. Sedat was right, this thread should be closed.

Agreed.

My point above is about the Sydney/GWS players. They packed up their stuff in a few hours thinking they are away for two weeks. Must be tough on them in a football sense.

7 games plus finals, fingers crossed for everyone.

I doubt they take so long to lockdown if not for the constant talking up of how NSW has handled things without locking down harshly.

Covid is here for a long time yet.
I don't think zero is a realistic goal.
I read somewhere that up to a third of Australians won't get the vaccine.
Lock-downs are only one layer of the solution.
So, expect all this to last for the foreseeable future.

Lockdowns will only not happen if 70-80% of the population are vaccinated. If that happens, and that’s a big if, it won’t be til this time next year at the earliest, and if a third of Australian adults won’t get the vaccine, then lockdowns are here to stay.
