That's what makes nights like friday almost sacreligious!

i remember seeing them play a freebie festival type show many many moons ago, was around the time they hit it on the commercial scene.

What are they like these days? according to Ernies report, not too crash hot? Do any of the original members still go back and play with the band?

They split up about 20 years ago but they still do the odd reunion show which, typically, have been free to get into at places like The Espy. They usually did a gig because they felt like playing not because they needed the cash. That's why I'm suprised they are doing shows with blow ins like Miller and Howard and not musos who have some connection to the band already.

Yeah split up after their Media album which i quite liked...

I have seen a few bands reunite to play live, some good, some, not so good, one that really suprised me, another new wave type band [i'll probably get hounded for this] but Real Life in the Gershwin Room a few years back, really kick it, was great little gig, and same deal, not for the cash, but just enjoy still playing live from time to time, was $15 well spent.

Out of Mind Out of Sight was the very first album I bought. Loved it - and also Media. The Pleasure of Your Company with "I Hear Motion" on it was another great album. I've got them all on cd now.

Was a great era for music wasn't it?

Bands like Models, who i recently scored a copy of their in studio performance of No Shoulders, No Head from Countdown on DVD, as well as other of their performances, I Hear Motion, Big On Love, Build It Up etc etc were just awesome.

Others around the time, Mi Sex, Machinations, Mentals, Mondo Rock, Dear Enemy, Little Heroes etc were also great.

                    Love that song!!

Two Cabs to the Toucan was also a favourite.

BTW, have you read James Freuds biography "I Am the Voice Left From Drinking"? Very good read. I hear there's a second one "I Am the Voice Left From Rehab". Must get hold of that one.

There IS a need to panic though about Golden Plains - I missed the first ballot and will be sweating on the second one. I'm really happy with the line up so far.

I'm also very happy to see Wagons & The Fauves added to the Meredith bill, should make a good weekend even better. Bought a new super-tent yesterday in anticipation.
Thats what I've been trying to call you about. I got in the first ballot (Golden Plains)but don't need the ticket as my mate (Rob) has one for me already. You can have my code but it needs to be done by Wedeswday.

                        Not really.
The models were crap when James Freud joined. Mark Ferrie on bass and Andrew Duffield keys.
I saw both versions in the last 2 years. The Ferrie, Duffield, Kelly line up is so much better than Kelly, Frued ,whoever one.

One of the greatest recordings by an Australian band ever. And it's got Too Cabs on it as well.

I've got a strong feeling that they were from that renowned bastion of alternative music St Albans.

Saw Muse last night at the O2 here in London. They were good without being great. The show was a little disjointed, with numerous pauses as they rearranged the set and some of their songs off the new album are a little ho-hum. They weren't bad but compared to Greenday who I saw at the same venue 3 weeks ago they were not as slick and they played for a paltry 1.5 hours compared with GD's nearly 3!
