Marching Orders, Swinging Utters, Frank Turner and Dropkick Murphys tonight.
Great gig. Turner was immense, I think his star has just about risen here now. Dropkick Murphys, this was their 10th visit to Melbourne. The 9th time I've seen them. They've come a long way. Pretty much in absolute superstar territory now.
Managed to see a couple of techno/progressive acts I've wanted to see for a while on Sunday night, and I was pretty impressed by them. Superpitcher and Inxec.
On a Funktion One sound system (which was unbelievable, mind you) at Brown Alley both played amazing music. Tunes I hadn't heard before, and the crowd was loving it. Great night out.
Saw Robert Plant last night - he's a strange cat, but entertaining. Voice has held up very well. A bluesed up version of Ramble On was a nice touch, and Going to California was really nice to listen to live.
Oh, and tour merch had Australia & Tasmania listed separately

Led Zeppelin is one of my all time favourites but I just couldn't bring myself to seeing Plant. I haven't enjoyed his stuff much since Zeppelin days. Sounds like it may have been very entertaining any how.

Have just heard that Aerosmith have been added to the Stone Music Festival lineup in Sydney on 20th April. They'll be co-headlining with Van Halen. Very happy about this!! We already have tickets, Aerosmith is a nice bonus. It seems both the Stone Music Festival & Aerosmith's Sydney concert were not selling well, so they've combined the two. It's like Soundwave Revolution all over again, but this time Aerosmith said yes.
Heading up to Sydney this weekend for the Stone Music Festival. Going for the Saturday only. Figured it'll be our only chance of seeing Van Halen with David Lee Roth. Aerosmith have recently been added to the lineup and The Living End are also playing amongst others. Although with the amount of mucking around with tickets, lineup changes etc I will believe it is actually happening only when I see Van Halen walk onto the stage and start playing.
