Will be quite a few happy fans given it is the most Kyuss-sounding album they've released.
Josh Homme was interviewed on the radio the other day and pretty much confirmed that. Should be a pretty good gig!
Wake me up when we get to heaven, let me sleep if we're going to hell

Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath

And we all found heaven - 2016 Premiers!

Are QOTSA without Nick Oliveri better than Kyuss without Josh Homme? Since Nick left, I think their stuff has been disappointing.

Josh Homme doesn't mean anything, it's all about the smooth swoon of Garcia.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Kyuss wont be doing new material, and I'm far more excited to see Garcia in the flesh simply because I haven't seen him before.
I've seen Josh a number of times, Nick I've seen a few times, and I've seen Brant as frontman 3 times and when he was on skins for Fu Manchu.

QOTSA without Nick have been more than disappointing - really put me off them.

                Go to Santana.
I don't particularly like him and neither that my brother, but he is going and i really wanted($$) to because of the drummer alone. Dennis Chambers is a living legend and IMO the best drummer around.

For anyone going to soundwave, that timetable a couple of pages ago was a draft and it's actually been changed quite a bit, much worse for me.
Off the top of my head, Primus are later and Dimmu are earlier so they clash and now PTH clash with Maiden

It's its anything like BDO, i'm going to have to straight from Slayer to Maiden so i can get in decently and pretty much miss QotSA which sucks. Missing Aminty, BMTH and PTH in a row sucks as well
I've got most of the day planned out (odds are it won't turn out how i want) so its the Metal stages (4) for most of the day with so far 2 trips to the main with two big breaks i havn't filled yet (90 mins early between the Sword and Primus the big one) but my 'can't miss' bands is down to 2 (slayer for the 1st time and Maiden for the second) after i got sidewave primus tickets

Thanks Shifty!! I'll pass that on to my husband who is going to Soundwave. I think Iron Maiden, Slayer & Rob Zombie are his 'can't miss' bands.

I'm very much looking forward to Iron Maiden at Hisence Arena on 23rd February.

I have 2 Santana tickets for sale. I'm selling them for my parents. It's for the concert at Rod Laver Arena in Gold Reserved Section 4 at the front aisles. They can't go because my sisters uni graduation is on the same night! At the same time!

I'll sell them for face value. They were $164.00 each. If you're interested or know anyone who'd like to buy please let me know!

Not sure if anyone cares, but for the 90's indie kids amongst us, Archers of Loaf recently played a surprise reunion show. Rumours of a tour although that's all they are at the moment. I'm not hugely into the rehashing former glories tours, but I never got to see them in the 90's and would definitely check them out if they came back around.
There's some reasonable footage up on Youtube as per below

I'd happily go and see Les Savy Fav, Deerhunter or De La Soul in the next few weeks but I'm broke as a promise so they're off the agenda. Missed tix to Gang Of Four too. Still, got the Hold Steady in March to look forward to.

Was lucky enough to see them at the Central Club Hotel in Richmond around the time they released 'All the Nation's Airports'. I'd definitely go and see them again if they toured.

Saw Deftones Monday night - Chino has slimmed down remarkably well (which I'm going to use as inspiration) and it seems to have given him more pep..he bounced around the stage like a crazy man.

                          Good times, they sounded great.

Re: Recent Gigs & Upcoming ones

I went to the RRR Stephen Walker benefit at the Forum on Monday. Sand Pebbles opened up, then Ron Peno, Dave Graney then Gareth & Dan from the Drones(probably my highlight). Then came a RRR band with guest vocalists and finally the Dirty Three with Nick Cave helping out.

Tonight is Primal Scream with the Underground Lovers.

Re: Recent Gigs & Upcoming ones

Tonight's gig should be a cracker, enjoy.

Saw Tool last night. Very strange gig, even for Tool. Their best was better than anything they had played before (they opened with a 20 minute version of Third Eye which was trully phenomenal, even blowing the album version away by a huge margin) and they player two sings that weren't on albums (although the second one was as song called "I Lied" which I have heard a few times before, possibly the unreleased track from the Salival box set a few years ago). Playing them back to back lost thr crowd slightly (both have extended quiet bits) before they took the set by the balls and blew the place apart.

Adam Jones, normally the tightest of live performers, seemed to have trouble on the opening of Lateralus and hit one wrong note a bar early (yes, anything slightly off is noticeable with the style of music they play). There was then a naked guy playing a single bongo and a secodn drum kit manned by a guy dressed in scrimmage who army-crawled on stage for a drum trio during the song. Weird.

Aenema was epic, Vicarious & Schism were good (more so the former) and they finished with a version of Stinkfist which had an extended jam and was probably the second best thing I have ever seen them do live (their version of Third Eye to open was easily the first).

They played for under 2 hours which in Tool-terms is 8 or 9 songs. The stage screen were a balck mesh everyone though would look shithouse, but was actually the most mind-blowing screen/artwork I have ever seen live - short of a giant train plowing through the middle of a screen (AC/DC) I doubt I'll see anything like it again for a long time.

That's the problem with Music Bowl gigs mid week needing to be wound up pretty early - I went to the last one in 2006 and Maynard's arrogance put me right off, and it ended very early and abruptly.

Still love them, awaiting a new album like I always do (which has been the standard 6 years now, so come on lads)
