I got tickets to Primal Scream in February.
Going tonight to the EG awards with Paul Kelly.
Saturday night is Christmas Even at the Tote, I think Jeff and the Brotherhood are support.
If I can be stuffed will also see The Church on Friday

Not really into music but reading this post reminded me of the big story about the Tote closing

Has it re-opened or moved?

Or am i just really confused and not look at this thread or post anything in it anymore

So I went to "No Sleep Til Melbourne" at the Showgrounds last week. At least I did from about 5pm after I'd been at work. My only real reason to go was to see Descendents play in Australia for the first and probably only time in their on and off 35 year career. The upside was that they played an awesome set, so much so that at the end as the crowd chanted "one more song" Fat Mike from NoFX, & Lindsay from Frenzal/JJJ came out and offered to put $5000 each towards the $20000 fine for playing past the 10pm curfew. Evan Dando also appeared from nowhere and offered some cash. Anyway they came out and played another song and every 35 yo+ fan (which we all seemed to be) went home happy.
If anyone cares I can run through what they played, but I suspect nobody does.

Other notes about the festival.
-Was generally pretty well organised, although nothing says punk like a $40 t-shirt and a $5 bucket of chips
-NoFX were ok, but man does Fat Mike talk a lot of crap between songs. Can be pretty funny but you know, play some songs dude.
-Gwar were also pretty funny but there's only so much dismemberment and fake blood a man can take. Impressive 10 foot tall T-Rex though.
-Modern day punk and hardcore bands mostly suck arse. Saw a bit of A Day To Remember and could but laugh.
-I'm too old for punk/metal festivals, particularly the middle of the pit.

They were on at the same time as the Descendents, which given that they were the reason I was there meant I missed the Mustaine show.

Fair enough too!! It's hard at festivals when bands that you want to see clash. At Soundwave Rob Zombie and Queens of the Stoneage overlap.

Future of the Left - Brilliant show, couple of Woofers in attendance and I can just about die a happy man after hearing Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues live (sounded even better with FOTL as a 4 piece). 4 McClusky songs in the set

Picked up tickets to Queens of the Stone Age at the Palace this morning, I think they managed to sell out in about 15 minutes!

Picked up tickets to Queens of the Stone Age at the Palace this morning, I think they managed to sell out in about 15 minutes!

Rumour is they will play the entire first album (self-titled) during the set.
Will be quite a few happy fans given it is the most Kyuss-sounding album they've released.

Saturday night is Jon Spencer Blues Explosion playing the Orange album at the Hi fi Bar.

Picked up tickets to Queens of the Stone Age at the Palace this morning, I think they managed to sell out in about 15 minutes!

Bugger!! Didn't know they were doing a 'side gig'.
